New Year! New Market! New You! Can you believe it? 2020 is almost here! It’s a new year and a new real estate market.
Southern California’s real estate market is projected to be GREAT this upcoming year! First, interest rates are forecasted to continue to remain low and stable at around 3.8%. How crazy is it that in 1980 interest rates were at 12.7% and now we have dropped all the way down to 3.8%?! Second, home prices are expected to continue to appreciate as well. Whereas historically, the normal home price appreciation was around 3.6%, this coming year we will see around 5.4%!
As we wind down the decade and start planning out our New Year’s Resolutions, I’d like to first offer my assistance if you are pursuing any real estate goals Whether you are planning to buy your first home or sell an existing property and purchase a larger home, or have decided to learn more and jump into the investment market – please don’t hesitate to contact me.
As mentioned before, I can help you buy low, sell for more, close quickly, market strategically, stage, negotiate, present professional photography, and more.
One of the greatest quotes I’ve heard is:
“A house is made of walls and beams, a home is made of love and dreams.”
Not only is this quote beautiful, but with the new year among us, this is very timely! How you may ask? Well, your environment – which includes your home – has been proven to dramatically influence your level of success.
Live in a home designed to set you up for achievement … and enjoy the fruits of your environment.
Therefore, I want to share with you these tips to help you set your home up for YOUR success and the success of your New Year’s resolutions.
So…what are you pursuing to achieve in the New Year? Some of the most common New Year’s resolutions include: (1) eating healthy and exercising more to lose weight, (2) getting organized, (3) making money / saving more money / spending less money, (4) learning a new skill or hobby, and (5) spending more time with family and friends. Once you identify your New Year’s resolution, plan out the baby steps required to complete to achieve your end goal.
Here’s where you home comes in. As you focus on accomplishing one step at a time (as all the steps add up at the end), go through your home and eliminate anything that would hinder your process. For example, are you trying to lose weight? Then eliminate the unhealthy, processed, high-caloric foods. Are you trying to get organized? Then eliminate all the clutter and only hold onto what’s of value. Are you trying to improve your financial health? Then eliminate all the unnecessary home expenses (i.e. do you need cable when there is streaming?) and/or remove any distractions that challenge your productivity to create wealth. Are you trying to learn a new skill or hobby? If so, remove any distractions that will prevent you from pursuing a new hobby. Are you trying to spend more time with family and friends? If so, eliminate anything that may block you from entertaining in your home or being present when spending time with family and friends.
Next, add back into your home anything that will optimize your ability to succeed. For instance, if you’re trying to lose weight, then add a space to work-out and/or the resources you need to meal plan and eat healthy. Additionally, given that lack of sleep and unnecessary stress play a great role in hindering one’s ability to lose weight, make sure to incorporate relaxing elements into your home to help improve your sleep and eliminate stress. Are you trying to get organized? Then after you declutter, add organizational systems that are easy for you to upkeep. Furthermore, identify your design style and begin adding pieces that are aligned with your style and inspire you to achieve your goals. Are you trying to learn a new skill or hobby? Then identify what space and resources you will need to help learn and strengthen your new skill – once identified add it. Finally, if you are trying to spend more time with family and friends, then create a calendar where you schedule such time – where you are available and present in the moment. Additionally, add elements that can help create memories during this time. Perhaps a game night?
There you have it. A New Year, a New Market, and a New You!
